I am a hard working student who has managed, by grace, to obtaining my qualification amidst coming from a not so financially able home. I believe in setting goals and achieving them no matter the challenges one faces. I am currently studying towards obtaining my honours degree in Zoology, at the University of the Free State.
In each situation I am in, I strive to enter with an open mind for learning thus avoiding making unnecessary mistakes. I easily adapt to a new environment and learn quickly and efficiently. My vigilance keeps me on my toes and allows me to lend a helping hand before a situation becomes disastrous.

BSc Genetics and Zoology Degree
My occupational background includes having worked as a student assistant in a computer literacy module for two years. This enabled me to refine my skills and as such I am able to work with numerous Microsoft programs. Furthermore, aiding students in understanding the course taught me how to individually work with people of different backgrounds and be able to adapt to different ways to help each student individually. Working with a team of fellow student assistants made me a better team player as we would consult each when faced with a tough task.
During 2016, I started working as a waitress in order to get an extra income to ease the financial burden off of my family. This was also a way in which I would teach myself independence and responsibility. Working in a restaurant gave me a much broader perspective on life as a whole and more importantly on the fact that we are all different as people. I learned patience and effective communication are important tools to have as a person, and also being part of a team has challenges that will help you grow and learn.
Following that, I became a lab assistant which came with a much more hefty responsibility. Here I was responsible for the laying out of the correct practical material and making sure copies of the task were accurate. At times I would capture the student’s marks into the system helping when the workload was a bit too much for the lecture. This job taught me diligence and organization as any incorrectly set out material would make the practical inconclusive.
