Johannesburg, Gauteng - Reference: CPM037552%2FSPu A JSE listed Financial Services provider based in Johannesburg is currently recruiting for a VP Lead Finance Policy Governance and Control. Requirements: CA(SA) 5 years post article experience Extensive management experience essential (3-5 years of managing a team). Business experience in a Banking environment gained from a Finance, Product Management or Front /Middle office role preferable.

Duties: Develop an in depth knowledge of the financial reporting systems, controls and processes that operate across business within the business. Develop an understanding and input into the development of the business’s financial reporting policies and risk management frameworks in order to assess compliance and guide interpretation and training in relevant areas. Assess training need, provide training on Financial Reporting policies, and risk management frameworks.

Input into the strategy for the monitoring and reporting of External Financial Reporting key risk (FRKR), ensure independence and appropriate business engagement. Input into development of appropriate assurance and conformance testing plans to support risk assessments. Ensure the operation of robust FRKR Governance process, including the FD attestation, AFRC and other forums (e.g.

GLRS and BSRC’s) across all clusters, countries and entities in Africa. Support Business owner for Consigno and other Financial Reporting attestation processes.This includes the monitoring of system performance, and management of remedial actions for system failures and other issues.

Senior leadership role either within FC, responsible for leadership, guidance and enablement of team directly or as and SME where leadership and management responsibilities include that of significant influence across the Financial Control Function. Ensure alignment of process with organisational strategy take accountability for relevant processes within area of responsibility and ensure delivery and maintenance of standardised processes and controls. Act as escalation and decision point for operational decisions related to specific process.
