Background Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited (“WHC“) is a wholly owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences.WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives.
In addition WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof. The Wits Reporductive Health and HIV Institute (WITS RHI) is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the largest research institute of the University of the Witwatersrand.It is a UNAIDS and South African Medical Research Council (MRC) collaborating centre as well as a United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) strategic partner.
WITS RHI is one of the leading multi-disciplinary institutes in Africa with an extensive portfolio that includes research, programmatic support, training, policy development, health systems strengthening and technical assistance at national and international levels.Its areas of expertise encompass HIV, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs). Main purpose of the job To monitor, configure and maintain all WRHI network infrastructure and maintain uptime of the entire Network Infrastructure Location Wits RHI, Hillbrow Key performance areas Manage and maintain all switches Manage and maintain all Network Access Points Manage and maintain the Server Farm and Core Network Monitor the entire Wits RHI MPLS sites Report on any faults or outages Present monthly reports on Uptime per device and site Liaise with ISP for any issues and reports Trouble shooting in all Network areas and fields Configure VLAN’s, WIFI, LAN, IP, DNS, DHCP Scopes Ensure Network stability of the entire Wits RHI Environment A clear and thorough knowledge of CISCO and Unify Devices Required minimum education and training Grade 12 / COMTIA N+ / CCNA / CCNP Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities Must be assertive, confident and adaptable Self-motivated, able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team TO APPLY Only if you do meet the minimum job requirements and experience as mentioned above, you may submit a detailed updated CV - Please Apply Online Please take note that the applicants who do not adhere to the above criteria will not be considered for the respective position.
