South Africa - Our client is a Private Equity backed, high growth, medical product distribution business head quartered in Dubai and focussed on building out their distribution business across Africa. They seek to appoint a highly motivated CA, CIMA of SAIPA with experience in the Africa distribution sector. This Financial Manager / CFO will assist with EXCO to set up their office in Dubai, which will serve as the financial headquarters for their business.

In this role you will: Define and implement the financial strategy Provide strategic financial input and leadership on issues affecting the business Ensure the accurate/timely reporting of the business financial results and the preparation of the budgets, financial reports and analyses Evaluate cash flow projections Lead the accounting function, maintaining the financial accounting systems and best in class accounting processes Ensure compliance with all country legal, regulatory and tax reporting requirements Design policies and processes for internal controls to minimize business risk and comply with local and internal accounting standards Lead the finance team and manage the respective Profit and Loss centre and direct reports To secure this high profile and dynamic role you will need: A minimum of 8 years of Audit or Operational finance experience At least 2 years of experience in working in and/or have responsibility for regions in Africa Experience managing finance functions of a distribution business Ideally experience in a start-up environment, ideally setting up operations in new countries Long-term strategic and critical thinking mind-set CA, CIMA or SAIPA Qualified with knowledge of IFRS accounting standards Strong leadership skills and exceptional analytical skills Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external affiliates and customers Demonstrated experience in financial decision-making & overseeing accounting processes Developed management/inter-personal skills centered on respect, honesty, and integrity A demonstrated track record to work independently, own decisions, set priorities, and problem solve Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and high-pressure environment Highly organized and operationally effective Independent and entrepreneurial, yet confident in working in a hierarchical/matrix organization The opportunity to have strong impact in the creation of a leading African healthcare medical technology supplier and distributor A unique experience in an African entrepreneurial, yet structured environment The opportunity to become part of a highly professional and dynamic team across Southern Africa, East Africa, West Africa, Central Africa, and the Middle East Unparalleled personal and professional growth to be one of the leading African healthcare medical equipment and product solutions providers in the industry
