Professional Recruitment Network - Western Cape - Our client is looking for an experienced Commercial Management Accountant to join their team for an 8 month fixed term contract.Potential candidates must be able to start in July 2018.The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling relevant and accurate sales related information to provide both internal and external stakeholders with the necessary information for decision making.

Duties and Responsibilities include: Maintenance and accuracy of Trade Terms from contract through ledger to payment: Update SAP system for changes in terms Ensure customer claims are accurate and timeous and that provisions are sufficient Ensure correct GL allocation Documentation of process of payment/deduction by customer Update matrix of Trade Terms by customer Prepare monthly reconciliation of all Trade related accounts Investigate and explain monthly variances Business Support: Partner with Commercial Director and Channel Managers to prepare for annual customer Trade term negotiations Consult with sales team to understand the impact of their decisions on company margin and profitability Present decision making options to stakeholders Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and methods to deliver desired outputs to internal/external customers Critically review financial decisions made by sales and marketing team Manage the deals/markdown process: Consult with Sales Channel Managers to ensure adequate provisions are made in line with expected customer promotions or expected deranging and special markdowns Assist sales in monitoring bill backs received vs.agreed with customer by promotion Ensure correct Trade Term billings for customers who utilise the bill-back method for promotions Return on investment analysis: Calculate profitability of key calendar promotions in terms of deals (price off), volume uplift, margin (including additional A&P), sell in, sell out, market share Assist sales team in determining repeatability or profitability of promotional ideas Analysis of promotions with National Channel Managers and Commercial Director Month end reporting and people management: Link between brands in terms of all financial reporting Assist Brand Financial Manager with brand requirements Manage team in terms of all brand deliverables Experience: Articles or 3 - 5 Years Financial Accountant experience 3 Years' experience within an FMCG environment (marketing driven, multi-brand, multi product environment) will be advantageous Qualifications: Qualified CA (SA) Technical Competencies & Knowledge: SAP Knowledge Sales and Trade Rebate knowledge Knowledge of financial processes Microsoft Excel Internal controls knowledge
